Gulf Life

I can see my van from here!

Finally found paradise on the Sea of Cortez. Hot sunny windless days that were so calm we could hear humpback whales singing to each other in the lineup. I shared waves with pelicans.

This is not good
I hit a large rock in the van, puncturing the gas tank and roughing up a few other pieces. On a separate occasion, I launched the van off a newly formed goliath of a speed bump, sending the connected propane tank flying off the back taking the gas line with it. Everything in the van went everywhere.

A few minor hiccups in what has otherwise been a great natural and geographical experience. Pods of Humpbacks splash by all day. Dolphins speed down the coast by the hundreds. The water is so clear you can see reef fish and sharp rocks below the breaking surf. Pelicans catch waves and dive for fish. While exploring the arroyos I spotted a couple two meter long thick yellow snakes. I conducted science experiments with several types of cacti and paid the price.

One version of my camp
The sun comes up over the Gulf in a deep red rise. It sets over the desert, lighting up the sky pink, blue, and every shade of the two. During the full moon, the moon would come up just after the sun set and follow almost the exact same line that el sol just took all day to draw. It was like having two days, a bright hot one and a cool grayscale one. Yes, nature sure is exciting, isnt it? Well thats all for this week sportsfans. Tune in next week for my latest adventures.
